Laying Staging Turnouts

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to my blogspot!  This is were I will post progress pics of the layout without shooting a video of every single bit of work I do.  There will still be monthly video updates to show monthly progress, but here you will be able to see things that might not be shown in the video, e.g. close up pics, different angles etc.

This series of shots show turnouts being laid in place and some relevant track work.  Close ups show the method of using printed circuit board glued and "nailed" in place on the cork roadbed and then the rail, (ties removed), soldered to the PC board.  The copper between the rails is filed away to stop short circuits and then a razor saw used to cut the rails, PC board and cork roadbed to make the lift-out bridge removable.

A few freight cars are also shown as they were used to test the trackwork.  Any excuse to push a few cars around and play with trains!

Cheers for now!
Stew.
